Up, up and away

Yesterday we went to Teotihuacan, the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. No one knows much about who built them. Records were lost and destroyed by the Aztecs and the Spanish. It was a religios site, with lots of sacrificial altars, and houses for priests and artists. It´s huge. This is my fourth time there, and it is very different than in 1981! It was a little sad, as there were tons of vendors selling all manner of things. The prices were unbelievably low because tourism is in the dumper here and no one is traveling and buying.
Don´t worry Peggy and Rob, I didn´t buy any cougar callers, whistles, pan pipes or bows and arrows for Mary and Henry!
I climbed all the way to the top of the pyramid of the sun, and it was a rough hike. Lovely view!

  1. Thanks Mare! The word "Teotihuacan" runs through my brain at the oddest moments. I remembered it from Spanish class in HS, and knew it was a place, but what I hadn't the faintest idea. Now I know.

Isn't a cougar caller an older, single chick's cell phone number?

  2. Maybe I should have gotten the cougar call for the young boys in class...
